HI Everyone,
This morning the birds are singing, it quit snowing and the sun is shining. What a great day to contact all those painting with us in Spain next month. Wish you were getting this note, too. But WAIT. What about joining us on our next trip... Tuscany, Italy, the heart of wonderful wine, rolling hills and ancient architecture, not to mention great food! Or what about Croatia in May of 2018?!?! Then you, too, will be getting a letter like the following one.

Buenos días, Artistas!!!
So! Have you gotten out your suitcase yet?
Find a corner somewhere, could be a guest bedroom, or even a chair. Plunk your suitcase down and start planning what to take. Now, I know, some of you have already done all of this….. and some of you are mental packers… already packed in your mind’s eye.
BRAVO! Mis Amigos!
This week, my suitcase got so excited to see me reach into the closet and pull it out! Oh boy! Here we go! Right now it is filled with joy and excitement, but all around it are bits and pieces of my planned packing. Hope you are making your suitcases happy, too.
Howard and I will be heading out before the chickens awake on May 2nd, spend 2 days in New York then we will flap our wings to Barcelona for a couple days. So, if you have any questions or would just like to chat, call us!
406-586-4484.
I know that you got our packing lists.... but.... Remember the ideal traveler has the minimum in their suitcase.. each item of clothing mixes and matches so you don’t have to take as many things. Each art supply is small and lightweight. Plan on wearing your heaviest and warmest clothes on the flight. ( Makes your suitcase lighter and you warmer on the flight) You can peel the layers when you arrive on the other side of the "big pond".
Here is a funny idea. We have some good friends that always shop at the second-hand stores right before the painting trips. They buy fun used clothing to wear on the trip. Then when they head home, they leave the clothes and fill the empty space with treasures they have bought on the trip.
Or, plan on bringing a light weight duffel bag that weighs nothing and folds up flat in your suitcase… that is a great way to bring home the “booty". Put your clothes in the duffle bag ( however, remember it is an extra baggage fee ) and put your treasures in your suitcase.
Bottom line… you will be painting and sketching incredible treasures that will mean more to you than anything you can purchase to bring home. After over 50 years of international travel ( I started at age 9, really! ), I treasure, most of all, the sketches and paintings that I have created while traveling, even more than my wonderful photos.
Soon, you will be quietly stroking your brushes and all around you will be the sights and sounds of Spain. All of your senses will be put into these paintings and sketches and you will remember each one with incredible clarity. These will be your very best souvenirs possible!
